As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will take on the following key responsibilities:
- Backend Service Leadership : Lead the entire lifecycle of designing, developing, and deploying backend services for our transformation projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the architecture and functionality of these services.
- Collaboration with Front-end Engineers : Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to ensure the smooth integration of services. Effective communication and coordination between the front-end and back-end teams are essential for delivering cohesive software solutions.
- Optimization for Scalability and Performance : Drive efforts to optimize existing systems for scalability and performance as part of the transformation process. Your role is critical in ensuring that our systems can handle increased loads and deliver excellent performance.
- Code Quality and Best Practices : Uphold high standards of code quality, adhere to best practices, and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the development lifecycle. This commitment to excellence ensures the reliability and maintainability of our software.

Qualifications for the Senior Software Development Engineer role include:
- Educational Background : A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience that demonstrates your technical proficiency.
- Proven Track Record : A demonstrated history of successfully developing complex web applications in a Senior Software Development Engineer capacity. Your experience showcases your ability to tackle intricate projects.
- Server-side Proficiency : A strong understanding of server-side languages and frameworks, essential for backend development.

- A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in full-stack or backend development.
- Proven expertise in utilizing server-side Kotlin or Java in conjunction with backend frameworks.
- Proficiency in the development, testing, and deployment of APIs.
- A comprehensive grasp of microservices architecture.
- Capable of transforming business needs into scalable and easily maintainable code, with a bonus if experienced in domain-driven design.
- Familiarity with code version control tools, particularly Git.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic, and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or a keen interest in gaining a deep understanding of backend processes.
- Proven track record in collaborating with legacy systems and transitioning to more contemporary technologies.
- Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Exposure to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and methodologies.
- Competency at a conversational level in the Japanese language.

*Including fixed overtime work allowance of 45 hours for regular, non-legal hours, legal holidays and 40 hours for late-night work.

- Remote work: Available up to 4 days a week.
