This position will predominantly concentrate on fostering partnerships that augment growth via collaborations with Uber Eats beyond the realm of restaurants and affiliations with Uber Rides. The incumbent will spearhead efforts to identify strategic allies, oversee contract negotiations, manage projects, and engage with partner senior executives. The role involves outlining a potential partner ecosystem and crafting a value proposition detailing how Uber can benefit both the ally and potential clients. The responsibilities will blend strategic planning with hands-on, project-specific tasks, and the management of partners' top-level executives.
Being a deeply cross-functional role, the individual will work alongside various internal divisions including operations, marketing, product, legal, communications, finance, and engineering, both locally and on a regional and global scale.
Positioned as an individual contributor within a high-achieving team, this role will report to the Director of Business Development in Japan. The manager will have full ownership of their partnerships, encompassing the management of partner C-level interactions.
- Work alongside the leadership of Japan's Uber Eats and Rides to shape strategies and pinpoint ways to realize business objectives, as well as pioneering new business ventures, including grand-scale aspirations.
- Guide and assist in the comprehensive deal-making and strategic partnership journey. This encompasses crafting the partnership approach, liaising with external partners’ top-tier executives, devising a mutually advantageous commercial framework, navigating contract discussions, and actualizing the partnership.
- Team up with a myriad of internal divisions, spanning operations, marketing, product, legal, communications, finance, and engineering, both within the local domain and at the regional and global scale, to actualize unprecedented partnerships.
- Foster enduring, reciprocal relationships with top-level executives of both existing and potential strategic partners that contribute to Uber's expansion trajectory.
