The Business Development Team’s Mission:

The Business Development Team at Mercari is dedicated to spearheading the transformative expansion of Mercari's marketplace business.   • As a member of the Business Development Team, your role will entail proactive efforts to accelerate the growth of the Mercari Group. This will involve taking the lead in planning, developing, and launching new businesses and services, establishing strategic partnerships and alliances, and contributing to projects designed to enhance and expand our existing services.
  • In the execution of these strategies, your responsibilities will encompass the entire process, starting from the planning phase, which includes engaging in discussions and negotiations with partners and alliances.
  • Furthermore, since the position being recruited for is that of Manager (Head of Business), your role extends beyond managing the entire Business Development Division. You will also play a central role in fostering collaboration and overseeing project management involving other companies within the Mercari Group. Specific work responsibilities include the following examples:

  • Utilizing diverse data sources, such as user data from various apps and services, as well as insights gained from field research, to continuously monitor how user behaviors evolve and the trends adopted by similar or competing services.   • Establishing and nurturing relationships with current and potential alliance partners. Fulfills at least one of the following in terms of experience and skills:

  • Strategic corporate planning for a consumer-facing service (C2C and/or B2C).
  • Leading collaboration, partnership building, contract negotiations with major corporations, and overseeing project management.
  • Conceiving, developing, launching, and marketing a new business venture.
  • Devising and implementing marketing strategies for a new business.
  • Experience in managing within one of the mentioned fields.
  • Previous involvement in business development, ideally as a business manager, at either a startup or a large corporation.
  • Prior engagement in strategic consulting, with a preference for experience in management roles or higher.
  • Experience in corporate planning or marketing within a business-oriented company.
  • Proficiency in establishing and promoting global business initiatives.
  • Proven track record of significantly contributing to the attainment of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, particularly with SQL and BigQuery skills.

Employment Status

Full-time

The probationary period at our company lasts for the initial three months after joining. During this probationary period, your contract conditions will be identical to those of a permanent employee.
