Your role as a Business Development Specialist within the logistics team involves several key responsibilities, including:
- Planning and promoting Mercari's delivery services with a focus on being "easy, economical, safe," and environmentally "sustainable."
- Identifying and forming strategic partnerships with external entities, collaborating closely with partner companies to facilitate the launch of new delivery services within Mercari's C2C (Consumer to Consumer) business.
- Implementing a sustainable approach that goes beyond seeking unrealistic discounts from delivery firms and instead relies on technology-driven efficiency improvements. This includes working collaboratively with delivery companies to enhance cost structures.
- Contributing to the strategic planning and development efforts within Mercari while concurrently establishing a sustainable business model. Your goal is to create optimal value for both Mercari and its partner companies.

The Logistics Business Development Team holds a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of the Mercari Group. The team's past achievements, including overseeing Mercari's logistics operations with a total transaction volume of 984.6 billion yen and approximately 22.6 million monthly active users, have had a profound impact on the industry. It's worth noting that Mercari manages a parcel volume that rivals 5-10% of the parcels handled by courier services in Japan.
As we move forward, our aim is to devise a comprehensive plan that envisions a future where every product listed on Mercari can be delivered through Mercari's delivery services. We also aspire to diversify shipping options, including environmentally conscious approaches like "shipping without packaging" and expedited delivery.
We are actively seeking individuals who can join us as stakeholders in shaping Mercari's delivery services. Your role will involve applying analytical and logical thinking to enhance the service, working towards the vision of "Mercari's delivery service can only get better," and envisioning a delivery service that fulfills the aspirations of our users and partners alike.
Qualifications for this role include:

- Over five years of hands-on experience in service and business development for apps and web services.
- A keen interest in and enthusiasm for business development within the supply chain, logistics, and transportation sectors.
- Practical project management experience within a business-focused organization.

Employment Status
Full-time:
The probationary period at our company lasts for the initial three months after joining. During this probationary period, your contract conditions will be identical to those of a permanent employee.
