Product Manager (CBO Product/Logistics) - Mercari in Tokyo, Japan
Team mission:
The Mercari marketplace app is committed to tackling audacious challenges to realize its mission of establishing a global marketplace where individuals can effortlessly buy and sell goods, creating value in the process. Within the CBO (Chief Business Officer) division, the Logistics Product Team plays a pivotal role in providing the essential infrastructure that facilitates the shipment of items and the exchange of value between sellers and buyers.
The mission of the Logistics Product Team is to enhance the convenience of the shipping process, thereby contributing to the growth of Mercari. This involves an ongoing effort to introduce new shipping choices for sellers and delivery options for buyers (reference), as well as improve the overall packing, shipping, and receiving experience. The team also provides recommendations to sellers on the optimal shipping methods, striking a balance between convenience and cost-effectiveness. Importantly, the team doesn't solely focus on the online aspect but also pays attention to the offline experience, including shipping from convenience stores and other physical locations.

Circulate all forms of value to unleash the potential in all people
"How can I contribute to society's prosperity given our limited resources?" This question served as the inspiration for the creation of the Mercari marketplace app in 2013 by our founder, Shintaro Yamada, during his travels around the world. We firmly believe that by facilitating the circulation of various forms of value, extending beyond physical items and money, we can open doors for individuals to pursue their aspirations and make positive contributions to society and those in their proximity. Mercari is committed to leveraging technology to connect people across the globe, ultimately striving to build a world where everyone can unlock their full potential.
